Brussel sprouts

Any one have advice please all my sprouts have
blown not forming please any tips greatfully received.

 

Sorry Andrew - can not help with this one, but I hope some-one can.

The only thing I can think of is an lack of nutrients - but thats a wild guess.

 

Soil not firm enough? I remember that I used to read that you should firm the soil for sprouts before planting. On the ligtish soil that i was using at one time i used to get a proportion that would blow, but I did tread down the bed before tranplanting them into final positions.

 

Your right Geoff the soil must be firm

When I first got an allotment i got the book "Growing Vegetables" by Tony Biggs. It is a paperback and still available. Excellent and no nonsense book.
Just starting back into vegetable growing after a gap of about 12 years and have just read it again cover to cover.
