Buddleia Roots

Further to my shenanigans in the what have you done today thread (http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/...-doing-in-the-garden-today-2015.86678/page-34).
I have to move a buddleia into a large pot, temporarily. Does anyone know if you can safely trim the roots?
One is rather long and won't fit in the pot. :-)

 

No problem to cut off Buddleia roots. Won't do it any harm at all.

I agree with kindred spirit ... but, I would also add, from my experience, these are tenacious plants and even if you leave the teeniest piece of root (or even a leaf!) in the hole you take it out of ... it *will* re-grow

 

Don't forget to trim the top as well. The less there is above ground, the better for the shrub when it has been transplanted.
