    No problem to cut off Buddleia roots. Won't do it any harm at all.

      I agree with kindred spirit ... but, I would also add, from my experience, these are tenacious plants and even if you leave the teeniest piece of root (or even a leaf!) in the hole you take it out of ... it *will* re-grow :oops:

        Don't forget to trim the top as well. The less there is above ground, the better for the shrub when it has been transplanted.
