bush identification

Could some one help with identifying these two bushes. looking to prune so want to find out what method to use.

the small green and red one got decimated in this years frost,so being very careful with it.

2. Sambucus nigra. Possibly one such as Sambucus nigra f porphyrophylla Guincho Purple.
It used to be called Sambucus nigra purpurea!
ie an Elder with black berries and purple leaves.

3. Weigela. Possibly one called Weigela Florida Variegata.

great thanks just this bush now.Bad winter nearly killed it had to take it back to the roots. was once 1.5meters high 1meter across naturally round shaped bush.

 

I believe it is Drimys aromatica. Previously called Drimys lanceolata.
This is not completely hardy.
Have you ever had flowers on it. They are beautiful and rather distinctive.

I was thinking of something a bit more 'common' like a Photinia ...

 

thank you silver surfer it seems to be the Drimys aromatica. I have taken cuttings to Garden centers, florists flower arrangers and no-one could place it.
that looks a better picture of it i found on the web.
