Butternut squash

    Have four butternut squash that have just started to run. Grue them last year and did not pinch the leader. I got a small number of good fruit. Question?????
    Did I do right? should I stop the leader and then the side shoots or do I let them run. This year there is a danger that they will take over the world, let alown my veggy patch.
