This tree is in my local park and it is one of my favourites.
It grows very tall and has the most tiny delicate leaves
I have ever seen on a tree. The trunk is a redish colour
and a texture you just have to touch!

I would need to see a close up of the leaves but it looks like it might be the Dawn Redwood (metasequoia)

I thought I might,whis4ey. One of them must be as much as a 100ft tall, maybe more, very hard to judge. I can't reach any of the leaves I'm afraid as they are to far up.(And my tree climbing days are over hee hee) Another thing about the leaves, apart from them being small and delicate they are a beautiful lime green,

Dawn redwood is deciduous so the fact that the leaves are lime green tends to back up Sam's reply, they would be new and very soft at this time of the year.

They're great Whis4ey! You must have a big garden to cope with that monster whisk. The leaves on the one in my pic are very small and almost round. I'll keep looking and try and find a small branch the squirrels might knock off. I'm determined to find out what it is.Thanks:thumb:
