A wee update on the Robin I have not blown up! Love is obviously in the air as “my” Robin has now been joined by a lady Robin. Well I am presuming it is a lady as “ my “ Robin is very friendly towards her and she is a little smaller. I now have 2 who are swooping down for anything I produce for them. With the amount they are both eating it should bode well for a huge clutch of babies soon. I am getting not a lot done in the garden as spend most of my time digging for worms:whistle:.

Well guess who made an appearance today?:) I was raking up grass clippings when a Robin came over and sat about 5 ft from me. I ( yes ok I know I am sad!) asked it if it was bobrob as I called the one I fed huge numbers of worms all spring. To my amazement it came right up to me within touching distance altho I did not try and touch it. I had not seen it for about 3 months. It might be my imagination but pretty sure it remembered me as it followed me round the garden for about 10 minutes.

@hailbopp we already have young robins here. Sadly lost Robbo last year - he always came and sat with me and ate off his own little tray of food. Tried it with our current boss Robin but definitely not as friendly as his parent. So hot and desert like down here that many of our resident birds hide in the trees and just pop out to the feeders and water bowls.
@Fat Controller mind your heart rate

Well I definitely didn’t blow up what I think, now sure is Bobrob as he /her has been around the last couple of days. A robin ( maybe Bobrob)had been singing away effectively at me so today I thought I would put the Robin to the test of our routine of last winter. I managed to dig up a couple of worms in the greenhouse and placed them on the slab where I fed the Robin last winter.Good grief it almost flew into me in the rush for the worm. 100% the same Robin, delighted and who says animals are stupid. This one certainly has a very good memory as not fed it since about the middle of March. Anybody know how long they live for? Hoping I will have a “ pal “ over winter to keep me company in the garden.

Hard to know if you aren't sure whether it's from this year but barring any catastrophy, I would imagine you will have your pal for 3 or 4 years. I'm no expert tho - maybe someone else will know ?
