I went to Aldi's last Thursday as the Celery seed I had sown did not appear to be doing anything, I bought a six pack of Celery plug plants for £1.99, job done!

Looking closely at them when I got home I noticed there where many plants in each plug, so I carefully seperated them and replanted them....from 6 plants I now have 40!

Wow. That's less than 5 pence each. That's SOME bargain. They look lovely and full of such promise for their future. I can smell them from down here in Battle!!

Are they self blanching celery? If grown out in the open I've found that a 450mm high min fabric screen around the bed makes all the difference to the quality of the celery plants.

Check the back of the packet, but you should be OK - but they grow slowly, initially, so I like to start mine at the "start" of the recommended period, so best to get your skates on :blue thumb:

        Bargain Steve:dbgrtmb:

I'm growing some in the coldframe, idea being that the walls will help blanch it like it did the Rhubarb last year.
