I've just been given some Chinese Wingnut seeds.
I've done a bit of Googling so know what the tree looks like and how it behaves.
I don't fancy growing one in the soil so am thinking about trying to do it in a container.

Does anyone have any experience of growing one in the UK - or will I be wasting my time trying?

(also got handed some Guava seeds which I'll try growing just for fun)

No idea Dave but if they were given to you, you might as well give it a go! They probably would grow ok in a container for some time before possibly objecting to it. [IMG]

There used to be a massive wingnut tree at Kew, dont think its there now not sure, but it was BIG. Dont know about the chinese one though, its probably similar.
You've got to grow it to find out.
I would think the guava is a good candidate for a container.

The Tayside climate might just look after the scale.
Time or chain saw will tell ;)
