My husband has for many years unearthed our artificial Christmas Tree and all the baubles etc. and spent hours sorting it all out, and arranging the fairy lights around it. When it was time to put it away for another year all the baubles etc etc were carefully replaced in their boxes. About six years ago he suddenly thought - 'Why dismantle all the decorations?' so he wrapped a large cloth around it and stood it in the back of the cupboard. Each year since it has just been taken out of the cupboard, given a few tweaks and there it is- in about 5 minutes flat!

What strange things do other people do for Christmas? (that can be posted on GC!))

For many years I always worked on Christmas day and made my staff from theatre come with me to follow "Santa" round the wards, giving out little presents to all the patients. It was a lovely time and we had many other people, consultants or people from the admin and their families, come with us. Lots of little kids who all sang Jingle Bells (out of tune) as we went round. Aah! Happy days!

One year, during the punk phase, there was a side room with three teenage lads in it and their faces when Santa came in and presented them with the pressie of that year - a small tin tray with pictures of kittens on it! [IMG]

You could just imagine they were thinking 'If our mates ever get wind of this - we're dead!'
