We have grown an orange plant from seed, it was doing really well then we left it in the greenhouse too long and last september all the leaves shrivelled and the wood that is more than an inch above the ground died.

I took it in cut it down to a two inch stump and left it on top of a cupboard.

Yesterday I watered it, I thought it was dead but when I scrraped a little bark off with my fingernail it was green underneath.

Does anyone know, will it grow again and if so when?

It may do kerripaul, on the otherhand it might not. I all depends on wether or not there are any dormant buds that low down the stem.
Think I'd just keep it slightly moist in a warmish position (not hot) with some good daylight and see what happens.

Hi Kerripaul.Sometimes in gardening its just a question of wait and see,I never discard any plant until I have done all i can to save it and given it plenty of time to recover.I think if its green its got every chance of survival. It would,nt hurt to give it a little Epsom salt feed just once a week(one teaspoonful to every gallon of Water(Lukewarm).good luck.
