IMG_3845.jpeg This is an herbaceous type clematis I think. It has tiny creamy flowers in clusters, light scent. Thought it was an integrifolia type but can’t find a reference to a purple leaved one. Also very tall, it’s a metre already and will get taller. Leaves twine a little. Can anyone put a name to it? Are they easy to split/propagate? TiA

I used to grow one called Clematis recta 'Purpurea', which flops all over the place and looked like that.

That is the one I was trying to remember. We, too, used to grow it. Seeded itself all over the place too.

@Mrs Hilliard I think it might well be that. Very floppy as you say and I failed to get the hazel twig corral in place so reduced to canes and string which is a bit unsightly. The patch is about 2x2 feet so may divide it later on.
