Coconut Tree Climbers Goa

    these guys climb the coconut trees to get rid of old bark and pull a lot of coconuts down in case they fall off and hit someone, its a dying business and they make a lot of money in goa.

    I saw them doing that in Penang many years ago, I certainly wouldn't stand under one!! :eek:

    Nothing like a coconut palm. I had one (like a lot of people) and it was very sickly and died after a year. Now that was what I called a coconut palm. [​IMG]

    thanks john for the welcome home, yes ed looks very nice, take a picture of rosa in pets corner and transfrm her they could make a double act :D :D
    I wouldnt like to stand under one of those either iff one of them coconuts fell on your head it would kill you, their coconuts are different to ours, but the milk tastes the same and the white flesh is very soft and nice to taste.

    Lucky you getting some pics of the coconut tree climbers, good ones too. We saw them at it in Sri Lanka about 12 years ago but unfortunately didn't get any pics.

    hi kedigato, they were twice near were i stayed while i was having my morning coffee on my balcony, got them even posing for me on a couple of them, feel they are not the clearest pics but didnt have time to change settings on my camera. but fairly pleased that i had got them.
