My wife recently decided to buy a plant in a nice blue pot not really knowing what it was as it was bought at a garden viewing and had no label.
Having looked it up I believe it is a parlour palm. In the last couple of months it has tripled in size and is still in a tiny pot. I don’t really do house plants so I’m wondering if I can repot it using general use compost or do I need to buy “house plant compost” ?
Also is it really a house plant or is it best in the garden ?

Parlour palm, Chamaedorea elegans is not frost hardy and doesn't like strong sunshine. I find it grows best in a shady corner.
I have mine in multipurpose compost.

Yes, house plant for sure and nothing too special compost wise. Mine below is about 7ft away from a north facing window, so gets lowish light and no direct sun whatsoever.
