Over the past few days I have heard an advertisement on the radio that a well known rock band that I am quite keen will be performing at Wembley next year. Booking opened at 9am this morning.

So I log on to my Ticketmaster account at 8:55am and get into the virtual queue.
At 9:15am I get a message on my screen "tickets no longer available".

An hour or two later I went onto some of those other ticket resale websites. And they had loads, but at 3x the initial price

It's really unfair that some companies have the means of buying up huge chunks of tickets and then resell them at a massive profit when ordinary fans weren't able to book them initially?

I thought that the government had put a stop to this?

I would have loved to go and see Fleetwood Mac too, but to be honest I didn't even bother looking at tickets as I couldn't afford them even at the lower price. It is completely wrong though, as you say, that there are companies that somehow manage to buy up vast amounts of tickets in such a short space of time.

On the other side of the coin, if people would simply refuse to buy the tickets from these re-sellers at these vastly inflated prices, they would soon die a death.

I think they used to call them TOUTS, now they appear to be legal on websites?
