    Moin everyone,

As this thread goes about hobbies, I wanted to present mine as well.

One of the first plants I put in my new garden was a set of two pumpkins. And they went completely overboard with their yield. Vines growing 10+ meters and with an estimated 50kg with of pumpkins I am still forcefully feeding pumpkin to may family ever chance I get.

Below is a bit less than half of what those two monsters produced. The wrinkly ones are Queensland Blue and the other ones I have forgotten.

But you know what? It kind of gives me a good feeling to harvest, cook and eat what I have grown myself. And nothing beats a wild boar meatloaf with grilled pumpkin.

So I would love to see a little bit of your harvest and maybe what you have done with it.

As previously indicated, I don't grow edibles. However, I have a recipe for your pumpkins you may like ...

My sister also added ginger to hers, yummy!

There is also a great recipe for tomato jam in that link.

          Those pumpkins look amazing.
I haven't got any pics of what I've grown because it was a long time ago when they were harvested. I've got red, white, black and pink currants. blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries, rhubarb and loganberries.
          Tomatoes and Chillies.

            That sounds awesome.
I so hope my newly planted berry bushes will reward me this season as well. And that the birds might have mercy on me :love30:

Thank you, I always have to cover the blueberries when fruiting from the blackbirds. Last year they were eating the gooseberries but i had enough anyway, I grow so many that it doesn't matter, apart from the blueberries.

I planted a total of 9 blueberry bushes in the hopes of getting at least some for myself.
As a distraction for the birds I also planted 4 aronia bushes. Maybe they like them more. And if not I can eat those as well

I think that it all depends on what the birds feel like, last year it was the first time that they went for the gooseberries.

I don't have the photos on this 'puter, but here, the veggie year starts in late February with the asparagus, then broad beans, peas, artichokes and spring greens. Then the polytunnel comes into production with radish, carrots, beetroot, tomatoes, cucumbers and early courgettes.
The onions, garlic and shallots are harvested in June, from an October planting.
Then the outdoor courgettes, cucs, toms, squashes, melons and sweetcorn.
Basil, lemongrass, sweet potatoes, peppers, chillies and aubergines take over from the tunnel early toms and cucs. So... in between actually growing the stuff, a lot of time is spent conserving the surplus. And giving it away :)
There'll be a lot less fruit production and conservation this year...all the cherry and apple trees have drowned. Just peaches, greengages, apricots and tons of pears to come  And the nuts. And the citrus. :phew:

Wow those look really nice. Especially the green beans. We have had a nice crop of peas (the sweet ones) ourselves last year.
