Crafters Corner 2026

Made this door wedge for the local sweet shop recently.

 

Very clever how on earth did you make the sweetie?

 

I've just finished this Cath Kidston bag, the pattern and fabric comes in a book which I bought from a charity shop for £1. I've done it slightly different to the original pattern as I wanted a zip top but I'm still very pleased with it .

 

That’s brilliant! And such a bargain, I bet it would cost a fair bit to buy the ready made bag.

Just finished this cot blanket with a Popcorn stitch edging, in time to go in the McMillan box. All our efforts get taken to somewhere in Devon for sale. Last year we made over £4,000.

 

A pebble I've just done in memory of my lovely sweet gentle cat called Stig. Rescued from a dump in Spain when she was a tiny kitten

A bit more painting.Fishes texture by adding paper mache held together with white glue and some polyfiller.
Just a fun thing to do.

 

I belong to an art group, which I joined to get me out of the house. They meet every Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening.
There's an exhibition held jointly every year, by the art groups in three Carmarthenshire towns - Ammanford Llanelli and Carmarthen - and it rotates between the towns each year. This year the host town is Carmarthen.
The other people in the group want me to put a drawing I made into the exhibition.


I've done this drawing of an ancestor, which I copied from an old photo, and that's the one they want me to show in the exhibition ... (which I don't want to do but my arm got twisted !!!)
It's done in graphite pencils.



Her name is Ann Jenkins, and she is my 3 x great-grandmother, born in 1811 and died in 1896.
I've only done her head but the whole photo shows her sitting down.
She is related to me on my paternal grandmother's side.

I can see lots of things wrong with it..

 

To my eyes that is an unbelievably good drawing @Michael Hewett. Very impressive.

 

I totally agree,it looks sooo good. I'm useless at portraits,to me this is quite awesome.
