Could it be a mix up on the dates? It's got to be worth ringing them to find out why they wern't in, might be a good explanation (and if its a bad one we need to hear it). Anyway they could turn out to be good customers in the long run, surley you can't afford to turn down work?

If you don't like them this sounds like a good excuse for dropping them , then if any of the other neighbours ask why, you can always explain that it wasn't your fault.

Bin them, Youll pick up other more enjoyable work and will feel relieved come next year. I went through a similar stge several years ago were I had a few days of the week that i didnt enjoy. after a bit of deliberation I droped three customers and the other one moved. Almost imediatly i was then able to take on better work.

Just write to them and state that due to increasing work commitments you can no longer fit them in, youll soon pick up new better work.

Whilst Ive actualy become quite good freinds with a few of my customers, i always keep in mind that im running a business.

Who cares, theyll more likely have beter things to woory about and it sounds like they may actualy want to drop you anyway the other customers will be relieved you still work for them and will value you more.

Spud, you don't need to worry about what the others think. If you are doing their gardens properly they will be only to pleased to keep you and they won't care in the slightest if you drop someone. Even if that someone is a friend.

From a business point of view, there is no point in having someone who doesn't pay.

When I am in a position like this I normally drop a card through the door.
    Asking them to contact me.
I give them a week to cover myself from any come back then if I don't hear from them.
    I drop them.
    I can understand your problem.
    Reputation is paramount.
Some people are just awkward to deal with.
If they don't want you to work for them anymore they should say so.

    Hi Chuck,

Like LYn I would drop a card through the door but put a bill on it-they`ll probably ring you straight away.
