Had one supposedly from DHL today saying our delivery will take place before the end of the day. There was a link.
We are not expecting anything so was very suspicious and did not follow the link either.
    Take care folks.

I have had two highly suspect popups when on Ebay. One just pops up in the browser asking you to take a Virgin Media survey . Now I am with Virgin but for it to pop up when I am on a site is not their way.
Next on eBay again , a pop up asking me to update the Chrome browser - immediately . I ran Malwarebytes , this found nothing. But best policy is trust nothing , always leave the request a day , then search Google to see if any updates are required or whatever the request was. Never use any links or phone numbers that are given to you.

            Hi,

Hmmm, not had such pop ups yet ..? though am using Firefox browser and Ad blocker+, wonder if its a problem with Chrome ?

Yes , you have to be so careful with these phishing mails, they do look good, have ones supposedly from Virgin and my bank.

Don't do surveys either as learnt long ago its just a way of finding out what else they can sell you.

Really hate it where many shops, diy stores, give you a receipt and then the operator circles some text asking for you feedback on "how we did today" !! or send you an email to the same effect .... Grrrrr....

            Rant over :loll:

Legit survey companies will never spam you or try to sell you anything, they're doing market research for genuine companies.

Or selling the results to radio stations and such like, when you hear something on the Steve Wright show that says something like "58% of blokes wear their underpants for over a week." then that's the result of a paid survey that I and thousands of others have done.

Been doing surveys for 4 years now, make about £3,000 a year from them.

You get to test products, review adverts, packaging, slag off banks, report on supermarkets, suggest improvements, all sorts of stuff.

Some sites even give free money away every day, and i'm often winning Amazon vouchers :spinning:

As far as e-mails are concerned, on a Windows PC you can highlight the e-mail header then do a right click and select properties. This will tell you the full e-mail address of the sender. Very often they are from JoeBloggs@Hotmail or similar. It makes most of the scams look pretty obvious. The benefit of this method is that you can get extra information about the e-mail without having to open it.

The details page, on properties, tells you a whole load more information. Most of it doesn't mean much to me, but it can show you other people the same e-mail has been sent too.

Mrs Scrungee's favourite is being paid to eat chocolate. Dog is currently reviewing dog treats and is reallý enjoying it. But she normally gets text notifications about deliveries of all our free stuff. I never click on any emails advising of deliveries.

Had one of those some time ago, supposedly for something I'd ordered from a US department store.

The best product test I did was when I was asked to give my opinion of a variety of smoked salmon. Smoked in six different ways (different woods, some with herbs or garlic, spices and/or chilli) and arrived in a cooled box with enough for us to invite six friends round for a full tasting. :dbgrtmb:

I think they got more response than they expected (and wanted :snork:) even down to telling them they used the wrong garlic :loll:
