When I looked around these days there are little if no access ramps to allow for wheelchair users to access their garage of other out buildings.
Here is one I made a while ago to allow me access to the garage and would help with the mower.

Hi Landimad, that is a clever & rather ingenious idea.. :sunny: My neighbour had a friend of his make a couple for his front & back door out of plywood.. They are very substantial, but sooo heavy!! Luckily he can leave them there...
I too have noticed recently how many places do not cater for wheelchair people, but to be honest just getting through a shop door can be a nightmare.. I had my eyes opened to it recently... So what you have done is a really good idea..

          Marley,

The thing is, not to use thick ply wood. Use the thin 3 ply and glue it together (in layers of up to five sheets thick)to the curvature you need then set it on the frame after.
Once this is done it should last for a couple of years as mine did, then you just add some short 3/4 inch board under the curve to strenghten it some more.
          Worked out a treat now.:yess:

          Well done Landi

I did not reply to first post as I thought it was another, Buy my new invention thread

A converted milk crate on legs allowing wheelchair bound people to plant geraniums, that once was available on the market every Council in the UK would be forced to buy to comply with the availability law :D

          Sorry again yours seems good

            Dunnee worry Jack,

If I had thought of a way of making money I would not be so open in the way I do things.

But to make my point, I am here to help others in how the access their own areas and not the local shop, office building or other.:mute:

Thats for the people who are payed to do this. We are here to help each other through difficult times.:dbgrtmb:
