Today I have ordered a new car, am sooooooo excited, they are actually going to deliver it to me free of charge!!! :hapydancsmil:The nearest dealer is Cardiff, hour and a half there, hour and a half back plus time filling in forms etc, that is way too long to leave my dogs so I just picked up the phone and asked if I could order it and have it delivered not really expecting that I could do it that way, but you can, and in 4 weeks time I shall be mobile again!!!:yahoo: here is a picture of my new car, hope you like it as much as I do!!! :dancy:

I know .... it's shite when you are poor .... but I dont do lots of miles and dont mind payin an extra £15 a week on petrol ...

its always a risk buying a car with more than 100k on the clock but sometimes you have to do what you have to do .... will be cash so i don't owe the bank anything

Road tax for first year is ZERO!! then I think it is £20. does about 60mpg :) I would think the insurance would be low also, I can't see anyone wanting to take it for a joyride or a getaway car!!!! :loll:

Have you ever heard of 'bangernomics'?

You buy a brand new car, pay £3k+ up front deposit, then a couple of hundred per month for the next few years, then a final lump sum. Every year you have to pay to get it serviced by the dealer in order to keep your warranty. Plus side, you get a brand new motor, save a few quid of tax and fuel, and if anything major goes wrong, you get it fixed under warranty.

Or you pay £1k, don't bother with dealer service, opting instead to just do the basic oil and filter changes. You might have to pay a few quid every few months to keep it working, and you pay a little bit more in fuel.

I can see the point in both, but I personally choose the latter option. Its cheaper for me, but it does mean I spend most of my driving hours in a car that's past its best.

I pay £20 a week on petrol .... costs me £80 a month total ... and I pay nothing else to any bank

.... what will I have to pay if I bought a brand new car that has a 3l engine, leather seats, electric seats, climate control, quality hifi stereo, electric sunroof, etc etc

if I decided to drive to Aberdeen, I'd be driving in luxury and get there feeling fresh

even if I bought a new car with a midget engine that is cheap to run, I'd be paying intersest to the bank till Jesus comes again ... and thats not adding the petrol cost either .... and insurance costs more as the car is new

so, it's a chance you take .... if the car gives you good service you score ...

obviously, if you are wealthy, buy new

if I win the lotto this weekend, I will buy a new car (cash) and say that you should never buy 2nd hand

            Val,
it's a little treasure and, when there is only one car parking space left that all the others declined (too small) guess who'll tuck in there nicely!!
            Enjoy,
