    Hi All,

Does anyone know what these are? My neighbours garden is full of them, but it is quite overgrown as they have only just moved in and are concentrating on the interior so im not sure if they are weeds or flowers. If they are flowers does anyone know how to propergate them so as I can nick some if they are ok with it as they are really pretty.

Looks a bit like Red Valarian. Centranthus ruber. But I may be wrong! :gaah:

    Cheers, Tony.

upeksaraja shinglesea 007 reduced.JPG Comes in pink, white and red Zig, also known as Valerian. Grows wild round here and looks beautiful. I used all three in my Chelsea garden, Shinglesea.

Lovely plant which is called Ventnor Pride on the Isle of Wight as it loves that area although strictly speaking it comes in pink/red and white if you get to see large swathes of self seeded plants then actually it comes in many different shades of red/pink :wub2:

Grows on my wall which I don't mind but wants to spread into the garden-proper too. Didn't it colonise lots of the bombed sites after the war? (Not that I'm old enough to know about that) - I think I read it somewhere as an example of how it would tolerate the most difficult of growing areas.

If its in your neighbours garden its only a matter of time before you get it! I have it in mine and like it, but I do weed it out quite a bit. If you want some seeds in about September time just let me know :)

Ones of the few plants which just will not establish itself here, though it grows like fury a few miles away.
