I do a lot of wildlife photography and my equipment spends the majority of its time outdoors. Last night, a critter bumped over one of my strobe units and damaged the housing, either by accident or on purpose. Today, I had to reconstruct another weatherproof housing for my strobe. I found the ideal container, a weatherproof ammo box, or storage container. It is durable, the right size, and has a rubber sealing gasket around the cover. Using a circle cutter I made an opening for the strobe, then I used automotive contact adhesive to fasten a small food storage container over the opening. The container not only prevents water from entering the housing, but it also diffuses the flash, which is exactly what I want. For further protection of the strobe I added some foam padding in the unit. Total cost: nine dollars and change.

Thanks Sheal. I got a shot of her underside, it appears we will see kits soon, perhaps four or five!
