FC's wander...

Some photos from our walk around a local island and along the towpath of the Thames:

There were a lot of lovely houses along there - the ones on the towpath on 'our' side of the river would probably be OK as they are a bit further back, but yes some of them are prone to flooding. The one with the weeping willow would probably not be too bad believe it or not as that was quite a rise on the lawn/slipway thing, so if it got to their back door the river would have had to rise a hell of a long way to the point that most of the area would be underwater. The smaller 'park home' style ones further round would be much more susceptible and in fact were in the news a few years ago when there was bad flooding. Scary amounts of money even for those which are essentially glorified static caravans/prefabs.
