Some pics of the park benches I was on about, don't look so good in the rain & the dark, but we enjoy sitting there with a bottle of wine on a summers evening.

Oh, word of advice, don't take flash pics in the dark, in the play ground in full view of a public road. PC Plod drove into the car park next to it to see what was going on. Fortunatly there was a back alley to dissapear down.

Thanks Ziggy, that is a good robust design but maybe a lttle too rustic for our garden. It is the same sort of thing I'm going to build, curved seating with a high back, so it's useful to see. I've got my old bricky coming over on Thursday to see if he can help me get it finished (or started even!)

Glad the old bill missed you :)

Thought it might be John, more in keeping with a salty old sea dog type garden.

Done my fair share of plod avoidance, not lost my touch :thumb:

    Very effective benches Ziggy.
i was up in Arbroath last week and noticed all the wooden public benches have been replaced.
they have been replaced with Heavy duty Reinforced plastic /composite benches, moulded in an imitation dark wood heavy grain finish which is very very effective and also minimum
maintenance. this area is very susceptible to heavy seas/strong winds and the benches appear to be withstanding the elements better than the wooden benches.

    Hey Music,

Hope you had an Arbroath smokie while you were up there.:thumb:

We had some benches made out of recycled plastics down here, till the kids realised they burnt like shite off a shovel:(
