Thanks Clare and Zigs. It's funny how people that haven't spent any length of time here see the island as the back of beyond. I won't go into defensive mode though. Well, not just yet anyway.

 

You think that's bad I've had to explain to people that the Isle of Wight isn't some backwater road less rock in the middle of no where I had someone swear it was actually part of the channel islands and had a population of a few hundred

 

Funny you should say that Aesculus. Many a time our mail has done the rounds. Sent to Wight first then to the Channel Islands. A lot of people mistake Mann for Wight, thinking we are down south and if I tell them it's in the Irish Sea they still don't know.
