I know it's a very overused word these days , but them waves are awesome !
The guys who ride them must have no fear or no brain !
Hope you don't get them that big on the Algarve Victoria ! Is Nazare within a days out distance from P. da Rocha ?

Nazaré is above Lisboa near Leira, about 4+ hours from here. It is famous for it's surfing because of the waves being on the extreme West Coast.

We don't get such down here but Ferragudo (east of Praia da Rocha) is also noted for it's excellent surfing at various times of the year .. but somewhat tamer I think! Another popular area is above Capo São Vincente.

Edit: Harry, it's quite wild up that coast, we went to Obidos the year before last and went over to the coast ... although we have cliffs down here, they are not quite like up there ...
