I just read about this cycle path ... sorry it's in Portuguese ...

    http://www.ecoviasalgarve.org/index.php

It is 214 kilometers long and runs from Spain to the West Coast and is the longest cycle track in Portugal. It is part of EuroVelo, the European Cycle Route Network, a project of the European Federation of Cyclists, which encompasses the development of 12 long-distance cycle routes with the ojective of promoting the use of bicycles instead of cars.

The routes cross the entire European continent and cover more than 65,000 kilometers. The first completed route was the North Sea Route. Ours is part opened and will be complete in 2008.

I thought you may be interested in this ... although you probably already know about it. [IMG]

Morning walnut. When we were on the IoW they opened a cycle track, can't remember from where to where. I think they are fantastic, other than going through nice countryside, the safety factor. [IMG]
