            Just wanted to check with others more than anything - is it just me or is the complete lack of email notifications for at least the last few months a new feature of GC? I don't really mind, just don't like people thinking I am ignoring them.

            @Gay Gardener - I had a long spate of not getting emails, and then all of a sudden they started again and have been fine ever since. Indeed, it was an email alert that brought me to your post.

            I will go and have a rummage under your bonnet, and see if I can spot anything awry at GC towers.

              Thanks @fat controller - I did try to uncheck and recheck the email notification box but did not help at all.
              If it is just mine then no problem FC, don't go to too much trouble.

                I have had a wee look under your bonnet @Gay Gardener, and there appears to be nothing amiss to me. The only thing that I can think of is that there were some ISP's with email servers that were a bit stuffy about emails from certain sources (if I recall correctly GMail were one of those ISP's) - - no idea who you are with, but it might well be something to do with the way your ISP has chosen to handle automatic alert emails.

                The only thing I can suggest is creating yourself a different email address (hotmail etc), and give it a try on a different email address to see if that helps narrow the problem down a bit.

                  If you do change your email on here, i think that admin will have to tick the new one, i changed mine back along and i couldn't post on any threads but i could still use the PM's and Zigs looked under the bonnet for me and deleted old one and ticked the new one or something like that
