A Yorky living in Oz! I have over 35 years of experience in the sports turf and lawn industries and have written two books on chemicals and fertilizer use plus a couple of hundred articles. When I was in the Uk I was employed at the STRI (for what little that counts lol) Hope I can add some value to you guys. In recent years been getting more interested in biostimulant and organic use in the garden etc.

      Welcome Jerry,

I'm unable to answer the question as I haven't thought deeply on the matter. We don't use chemicals as we feel we don't need to and as we have a large garden it would be too expensive. On the beds we just use garden compost and the occasional horse manure.

On the lawns we just let them grow wild and cut them. I would guess the lawns are now somewhere between 30% and 40% grass and the rest are green weeds. It all looks good and green when it's cut.

Seeing your name, a song has just popped into my head and I apologise that it's nothing to do with fertilisers.

It's called The Jam On Jerry's Rock :noidea: :)

Hello and welcome to GC forums
        :sign0016:
These days don't use any fertilizer on the lawn/ grass just let it do it's own thing.
I do use a rose feed on the roses, but that's all. I use compost on the borders.
