16mm of rain is forecast for Cambridge tommorow (according to wunderground) .... with more rain to follow over the next few days

thats lots considering that the ground is saturated and we have had rain daily for nearly 2 weeks

Drove over the Huntspill Drain earlier, it was full.

Did make me wonder about the drought situation & why we were pumping millions of gallons of fresh water straight out to sea:what:

I was reading an report from a Met Analyst and he confessed that the UK climate is the most difficult to forecast either short range and long range because of it's high latitude position, the Jet stream, the conveyor effect and the Gulf stream all effecting the Island. Well, that was his excuse anyway:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

They trotted out that old one on the news about it being the 'wrong sort of rain'. Wrong time of year, won't replenish reservoirs etc etc etc. Meanwhile I'm still contemplating buying a burka so that I can sneak out and use a hose from my own water butt during dry spells and remain undetected. Can't risk upsetting the water Stasi.

Of course it is the wrong sort of rain that will not top up reservoirs, or the water table, Otherwise the water companies would look bad increasing the water rates
So whilst the water is very low and the companies profits are destitute the rain will never find the water table
                    Obvious init

We're going to have a very damp school trip on Thursday, I fear.
