I bought one of these a couple of days ago. Not the dearest Huion 1060 pro + just under £50. I intend to do a bit of sketching and general arty stuff. I use paint shop pro 9 for my photos. Photoshop is sooo expensive for a hobbyist like me so is there another paint prog that is much cheaper but still very good.

Hi Hans, there is Gimp which is free, never used it myself but it gets good reviews.

thanks for that. I missed to get the ,pen thickness, working with paintshop pro9. It works fine on the set up pressure of pen/tablet, driver page. So my next move is to try the free Gimp and MyPaint. The Tablet itself seems very good for the money.

Update. Have downloaded 'My Paint' and this works very well pencil thickness is governed by Huion Pen pressure so is colour density. I was looking for a digital drawing package and I feel this is already very good. The Huion is just what I needed very good pressure control of pencil/pen using black, or whatever you like, for sketching with a view to, Maybe, painting over. Full control for the amateur soul like me.
My next download maybe later today (painting dining room out wife in charge :) ) will be Gimp this will be also good for cartoons and general fun. There may be others that mix the two.
This came up on google after JWK input.
