    London is 2-4 degrees Centigrade hotter than the surrounding areas.

    :loll::loll::loll: Nice one Dave:D

    Cheers Guys & Gals, only too pleased to help.

    Talking of City temperatures, I was camping in the New Forest while working in Southampton, only 15 mins drive away, it would regularly be -2c in the Forest & +7 in the city.

    Ooo, looking at the map, it might be because the whole of London is in a valley rather than temperature difference, otherwise the Midlands conurbations would be the same colour.

    When I lived in Sheffield, we'd sometimes go for a drive out to the edge of the peak district. We're talking maybe 20 miles from our house. One time we were there and it started snowing really heavy. We could see it laying and paths were disappearing before our eyes. I said to the wife we'd better get out of here before we get stuck. The snow was only about an inch deep at this time. 15 minutes walk back to the car, by which time the snow was coming over the tops of our shoes. 10 minutes later we were on the main road, which was largely still visible but within a few miles I was navigating largely from memory because you couldn't see the edge of the road it was that bad. Another 30 minutes and we were back in Sheffield, where there wasn't even a dusting. I saw my neighbour getting ready to go out on his pushbike. I said "the snow can't have lasted long here, but it'll come back soon enough, maybe you should cancel your bike ride". He looked at me as though I was daft, and said "what snow? It's been mild and sunny all day".

    Blimey Dave, almost like living in a biosphere.

    Oddest thing i've seen weatherwise was London, covered in a thick, highish layer of grey cloud.
    Above the centre of the city, the cloud had been pushed up in a perfect bowl by the heat coming off the CBD. Wished I had a camera, it was almost like someone had prodded the cloud with the dome of St Pauls Cathedral.

    Been learning witchcraft.:th_scifD36: Just made my location clickable :heehee:
