Hello Shiney, thank you for your kind welcome. Unfortunately I have been asked to either change my screen name (perfectly understand why) or leave GC. I have agreed, unreservedly to leave and sent a note to admin to mention that I did not know how to delete my account and would admin do it for me. I have just come back to check and found that I can still access the site. This will no doubt change quite quickly but it does allow me a moment to thank you, indeed everyone that was kind enough to welcome me. You have a lovely site and I wish you all well. Take care.

We didn't insist you leave GC at all. We just asked that you change your screen name to something that could not be mis interpreted as a commercial punt.

We gave you several opportunities to do so, you declined them all.

In fact, you would be most welcome to carry on posting under a new screen name, all you have to do is let us know.

 

I second what @Zigs said. Your posts have all been fine, but to keep the unbiased nature that we've built up, which is fairly unique among forums, many of which openly allow traders to post in the main forums such that nobody is quite sure if the post offered is personal experience or subtle marketing, we just ask that there is not an implication of commercial bias. With a name like 'Garden Bargains', if you were to tell me that I really ought to consider buying such and such, my first thought would be that you were lining yourself up to sell me such and such, when in fact you might be sharing personal experience that such and such is a good thing to have

Appreciate your comments Fat Controller. As far as one or two other comments are concerned and just to be clear, I perfectly understand why I was asked to change the name. It was my choice and I declined. Zigs is right in that I was given the opportunity, I reflected on it and decided that I did not want to make the change. Simple as that.

 

If somebody joined with a user name like PornskiU-ggBoots, you'd be a bit dubious about them I'm sure.

P.S. just discovered a banned word and it's not pornski.
