Hello from the sunny midlands

Hello and welcome from Belgium! I love the project you have ahead of you....

We moved into our current home last summer. The previous owners had very kindly spent four years renovating the interior of the house, pretty much to our taste - thank you very much! But they knew nothing about gardening, and had just had the grass cut once per fortnight, in that time. I think we have a few more plants than you (someone who knew something about gardens lived here about 15 years ago, I reckon), but I can empathise with your challenge! We have the same financial restraints too!

A top tip I was given, and am struggling to stick to, is to not take on too much at a time. I've tried to set myself a small target eg get a raised veg bed built, achieve it, and then move onto the next thing!

 

Thank you for all your kind words - it is daunting and i have tried to have a go at the plantify garden design software - but have had problems with the google map bit - found my house and identified the boundaries of the garden and it will not save it - grr - got to say the computer has nearly been thrown out of the windos on several occasions!! any tips for getting it to behave!! otherwise i will have to use my imagination and keep it all in my head - which is a dangerous place as it tends to lose stuff!! lol
