Help with an acer needed

My Acer is suffering. The leaves are turning green and not
growing at the top. the bark is showing white flecks. It's a purple leafed hybrid but i can't remember it's specific name. these are all
consistent with our last acer which died on us - any suggestions?

You don't say what kind of soil your acer is planted in or if it's in a container.

Either way, have you ensured it is in acid soil? Of maybe it sounds like some kind of infection.
