    Thanks very much Fancy - fennel arrived safely this morning - is it best to wait till spring now before growing them?

    You are supposed to sow them in the spring in pots ..either in a greenhouse or a windowledge will do..I must admit i just threw mine in the soil and they have grown but its up to you..i suppose if you start them off in pots at least you know where they are..!!

    WILDFLOWER IS RIGHT BUT IT IS UP TO YOU. I grew them from seed and put them out end of oct. the seeds you had are from the ones I planted last year.
