Hi - I'm Batfink and I'm new to gardening so thought I'd join up for some help and tips. We have a fairly decent sized garden in Central Scotland. I'm loving planting new things and taking care of it but occasionally I get a bit heavy handed with pruning. This is a skill I definitely need to master!

Hello @Batfink and welcome to Gardener's Corner.
I am also heavy handed when it comes to pruning, I never know when to stop and usually end up with just a stump :heehee:
Depending on the shrub it usually grows back and sometimes in a better shape than it was previously.

You'll find lots of friendly folk here and they are always helpful too, but maybe not me, although I have been gardening all my life I am still learning

Welcome @Batfink! Yes, pruning is a tricky skill, I either seem to take off far too little or far too much with shrubs I'm unfamiliar with, but I'm gradually getting better with a little help from the Gardeners Corner experts! :love30::biggrin:
