    Hi all,

Thought I would post a quick intro, we have been living in Spain for a few years now but only recently brought a house here.
The house and garden need loads of work but that is fine by us as we can put our own touches to it.
We have lots of ideas too but can't really do anything until we can get rid of all the stones the previous owners put down, then we can get stuck into a bit of design and landscaping over the winter, hopefully.

Main interests in gardening plant wise are Australian natives as well as growing herbs and some veg.

Anyway thought I would say Hi and probably have a lot of questions to follow.

Welcome to GC HaSolar, we would welcome pics of the garden as it is now.
Beware of Ausie natives like Acacia Longifolia, an invasive pest throughout the Med but you should do well with Callistemons.

Thank you very much everybody for the warm welcomes. :)

Thanks Sheal, hopefully it's going to be a bit interesting for around here.
I will be sure to post as I go, we have mainly be doing the interior since we moved in but now have a bit more time to get the outdoors in some kind of order and I'm really starting to enjoy it.

Thanks for the welcome, I will post some pics when I'm back on the PC. I would like a record of the before and after so that is a great idea to document it here.

I do have a .pdf saved I think with a list of banned species in Spain which I plan to abide by however I have noticed a few plants like longfolia on sale in garden centres here and even the local councils plant some of the species listed. It's a bit of a mess in that regard but I hope to stick to the rules at least.

Callsitemon is one of my favourite species and we have just one in the yard which needs a good prune back but it's flowers are gorgeous, if we can find the space I wouldn't mind a couple more.

So as promised a couple of pics, just of the front yard so far. Will post more when I can link my flickr.

Basically everything bar the big palms will go or at least that is the plan anyway. Strip it back and then start doing what we want to.
By the time we moved in the garden had been abandoned and is in a sorry state which makes it easier to start over.
Just need to work out what to do with the stones now.
