    Hi

I have two honeysuckles. Can anybody tell me if these are the type that flower on old wood from previous year or new wood from current years growth.
The pics were taken on 17th May and it looks like the flowers are just about to open. Not sure.

Leaves look as if they have a virus with that yellow speckling.
    Slightly bigger than what?

Unfortunately I can’t tell. As it’s not in flower at mo. But I do recall them being smaller than the flowers on the second one. Can you tell from the unopened flower buds in the pictures if it flowers on old wood or new wood? If you zoom in you can see the flower buds. Just about to open. The pics were taken on 17 May. If it is a japonica then it flowers on current years growth. But I am not sure what type either of them are. So can’t prune them till I know. Is it possible to tell by the unopened buds and where they are in the pics?? Based on the date?? As to what type they are? Either late flowering or early flowering and on what years growth.

Is the first one the Mint Crisp I suggested above?
You might have to wait until this summer and get photos of open flowers to id them.
