    i have a spine problem with 1 disc removed badly causing other problems, right calf muscle is a lot small than the left also nerve problems and loss of feeling in leg.
    To cap it all I was in hospital last year 3 times found I had something in my lung, well I still have it and not even a biopsy could find out what.
    I need another disc out but as they want to go in from the front I said no, also tonsils need coming out.

    Hang on should I still be here :dancy:

    Still I use a back support and a knee brace when needed, but I can still move a shed ( Egyptian style on runners ) dig ( using a trowel and a narrow shovel as a spades to much ) plant ( kneeling pad or pillow and the dogs old bed ). There is always a way to do things most take more time but the effort used is less, there are ways of doing things which may not be standard but work for me. I always say I can do it but how I do it takes thinking, only a few times have I had to say it's beyond me I need help.:help:
    The dog helps :doggieshmooze::cat-kittyandsmiley: not.

      @Jimcub, gosh poor you, sounds like you've had a bit of a tricky time, but I'm pleased to hear that you haven't given up on the garden. I think it's better to keep active & give things a try than to give up & sit in the chair!

        I'm sad to hear that you have these health issues but really impressed that you have not allowed them to become limiting or disable you. Gardening is not an easy hobby and it somehow has served you well in keeping you motivated to keep up with coping mechanisms.

        I sometimes get a bit sore and switch to a long handled small shovel and claw sold by Lee Valley Tools. They do a dandy job, particularly in established areas that just need a clean up or small transplants performed. Maybe something like these will help you on those "bad" days.

        The older I get the more men's toys I have to make life easier, a ride on to cut the grass a trailer for it to move bits about. Non of these are any good without Mr Heath Robinson and a good dose of Mr will power
