Awww, poor little beans but I'm sure they will blossom under your care and devotion :). I have found that sitting on the floor with a rabbit or rat in a restricted space can help. I read a book, eat, drink and ignore them, don't try to interact with them. Eventually they get curious and creep a little nearer and then a bit more. Sharing food helps too, if they see me eating something they like they start to realise I can't be all that bad :heehee:. Don't know if it works with cats though :dunno:.

My second last cat was used and he had obviously been through some trauma. He never came near anyone for the first month or so and I think he had nasty memories of being declawed. But after a while, he really cozied up to me. And he was smart. He used to pee in my first husband's shoes. it's okay, you can laugh as the man was a toad!

I'd love to have another cat. Even thought that maybe if I kept it out of my bedroom at night, that would help. But as we all know, that's just wishful thinking. I do grab the opportunity to pet them when given the chance. :)

You're supposed to kiss a lot of Frogs, Lori, before you find your Prince, not kiss a lot of Frogs and marry a Toad:dunno:

The food Dimitris has is made from human grade meat, although I don't think I would want to eat it - even if I wast a vegetarian  . ARMANDII could pretend to eat the food I suppose. I was actually thinking more along the lines of something from the delicatessen counter maybe. I get small pieces of off cuts from Tesco ( only a few pence to buy ) of chicken, turkey, ham or beef. Dimitris absolutely loves these and is very willing to do anything to get them :heehee:. I taught him to sit and offer a paw using these off cuts.

I am not sure I want to broadcast this ... but my nickname is Frog or Froglet and T'other Half's is Toad or Toadie! This began some 52 years ago because I wore ridiculously large sunglasses. I now have sunglasses shaped like cat's eyes. :rolleyespink: Unfortunately, because of my nickname people started buying me frogs of all descriptions ... toys, ornaments, etc, which added up to around 150. :hate-shocked: When we left the UK I sold a lot of them ... one person bought about 50! I kept the expensive ones.

A bit of local Portuguese trivia ... people put large ornaments of frogs/toads at their gate/doorstep/entrance to property (even shops/restaurants) as gypsies won't pass them.

Well, my Cats and Kittens always get fed Tuna and dry food and both my previous lovely Cats, Sally and Jenny:cat-kittyandsmiley: would both turn their noses up at tinned Cat Food. I've put both in front of them and they always, after a sniff of the Cat Food, would choose the Tuna.:dunno:

Excuse me?? I've got this image in my head of the Kittens watching and they're thinking "What is that idiot doing? He'd be better off with the Tuna:dunno:.........and I do like Tuna and Mayonaise sandwiches!

That's not a bad idea, Lucius, but I think it's something for when they're older, bigger and more confident in me. They empty all the dishes of Milk, Tuna and dry food which get refilled 3 times a day so they've got healthy appetites and the bill for Cat Litter has quadrupled!!.......I can hear one in the Litter Tray now!!
I leave a Wildlife Trail Camera in the Kitchen overnight and, this morning, played back last nights action. They appear to love climbing up and down my Coats that are hung up in in the Kitchen and using them to gain access to the top of one of the cupboards:heehee:
Then they peer out of the side window and watch the world from their psoition.
At the moment they mostly sleep all day and then come out at around 7pm and spend the rest of the evening and night playing with their toys and eating!!:cat-kittyandsmiley:
I think the next phase, as suggested, is to sit in the Kitchen and see what happens when they come out to eat and play.

                  NOT
My name in the rif raf was "Radar", not just because I was a Radar Technician but because I became known for getting things done before they were due to be asked for:heehee:
My Wife loved Frogs and we have a ceramic Frog stuck to one of the Kitchen worktop tiles.:love30:

This is how Dimitris sleeps every night. He starts off on my chest and then migrates to the crook of my arm.

One of the Kittens (Teasel) got herself trapped in one of the old hidey holes, yesterday, and wasn't very happy. In my attempts to get her out she proceeded to turn into a "meat grinding" machine and turned my right hand into a bloody mess by biting and scratching with abandon:hate-shocked::gaah:. She's not a small Kitten and has all the equipment to defend herself. It took a large towel to wrap her up in so that she couldn't bite or scratch anymore, by which time I was in need of some medical attention and the towel was covered in my blood and needs a session in the Washing Machine.!! I washed my hands and then cleaned every scratch and bite with disinfectant, tried to staunch the blood while applying plasters where I could. After that, a couple of hours later, I cleaned the wounds again with TCP and put some Savlon on. I now have a thick pair of leather gloves ready in case it happens again!
I looked in on the Kittens later and lifted up up the Blanket they're hiding under and Teasels looked at me calmly as though nothing had happened:dunno::heehee:
