@ARMANDII Excellent news! :yay: Now is time for you to start a Teasel and Fern thread in the Pets section, perhaps moving all the above posts into it in readiness for PHOTOS which are eagerly being awaited by many. ;) :cat-kittyandsmiley:

I currently have five, well actually six cats. All rescues. Ireland has a lot of feral and strays as folk tend not to neuter. grrr.. Abed just now ( where I spend most of each day) and I have three with me... Going to try to add photos; no idea how and I suspect it will be a reference not the real photo.

      Well look at that!

This is Jacob. A learned older cat! Fell asleep hard at it!

When I brought the new three home, I had set up the big dog crate in the kitchen ready. I put the two carriers in and food and water, and litter tray, opened their doors, closed the door and covered the crate with a blanket. And did not let the two residents in there. The following day Selkie asked for out so she was allowed. Bella was the last. She took three days to emerge. It was the easiest transition ever.

Well, that's good, Islander, My two Kittens are still playing and acting like Kittens, jumping and climbing like Circus Artists all around the Kitchen with great ease and speed close to the speed of Light:dunno: They rag their toys and watch with great interest what is going on in the garden from the big Kitchen window. They come to the glass door of the Kitchen/Lounge and now demand my presence for a play with them or a stroke and cuddle. The White Kitten (Teasel) now squeaks for a stroke while I'm doing something in the Kitchen and the Black and white Kitten (Fern) was, this morning gently biting and clawing at my foot, because I wasn't wearing shoes. while I was trying to make a Mug of Tea and a Sandwich. So, the smaller, by half, of the Kittens (Fern) will push her sister out of the way when it comes to a stroke or cuddle, or when I've renewed the food I know who's going to be first at the "Trough"......Fern. She's also the most noisiest letting you know that she wants this or that and the first to "investigate" something and get into trouble while her sister sit calmly watching.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

It is amazing how fast they develop their own personalities. These three were yearlings, street rescues, with a lot of associated problems. But it seemed to make their character traits more defined once they were well fed and safe. Which took the best part of a year and is still developing. I hate to think of their kittenhood compared with yours and with the Siamese I bred for many years. But the dog crate was the most useful thing. They used it for months. Their bolt hole. Yours are very privileged and how young cats SHOULD live.

Their forced, by me, "Bolt Hole" was the Kitchen cushioned chairs where the cushions were under the Table while on the chairs, so they would peer from the chairs at the strange monster coming into the Kitchen. As I said I attempted to close off all nooks and crannies because they could have got trapped, which they did:dunno:, or injured themselves and so gave them the chairs for them to hide ,cuddle on the cushions. Now that I've been accepted as part of their "family", the giver of cuddles, strokes and scratches, the supplier of food, and the changer of the Cat Litter, their new place of residence is on a nice thick, soft folded blanket on the top of the Kitchen Table.
I'd really love to let them out into the garden and the lovely world of scents, climbing, into the jungle of the garden but if I let them loose now I'd never get them back before nightfall and when I lock up the House. What I don't want is them trying to come back into the House, when they're faced with a locked door, all through the night. My garden fences are 8' high and topped with 3' x 6' frames of slack Chicken Wire to keep my previous cats in, and not become Road Kill, and other cats out which had worked perfectly but, I suspect, that I will need to modify the fence as these two "monkeys" will test the fences like the Raptors in "Jurassic Park":hate-shocked::dunno::wallbanging: .

I am blessed with where I live as the cats can come and go safely. The island is small and few of us here. When I was moving and was waiting at the slipway for the ferry to come to bring me HOME, ( a lifetime ambition achieved!)Boycat aka Houdini got out of his module, and I had to crawl under the car to grab him. Fortunately the sight of the ocean fazed him! I told him, When we get to the island, you can run free but NOT YET!" and I released them as soon as we were home. They all and each have their own way of letting me know they are at the door wanting IN. The two new girls have a dreadful way of staying out two or three days but they come home, ravenous and crawl into bed with me. Selkie is missing just now. She is the boldest. And the most affectionate. When I had Siamese, they were never outside but that was a village. The photo is Boycat and Oliver ( who always wants more..) enjoying the sun. Well, my Kitten/Cats first slept on the cushioned chairs under the Kitchen table and then onto a nice soft blanket on the Kitchen table, then in the used Cat Food sachet boxes, and now Fern has decided to sleep in the plastic boxes on the Kitchen Worktop in which I put vegetable waste/Tea bags, etc:doh::cat-kittyandsmiley:

                            upload_2020-8-11_16-33-43.png

So then Teasel decided it was a good idea........

So, now the two of them are ensconced in the waste boxes:wallbanging:

And there I was contemplating buying either a large Cat basket or two small Cat baskets:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
