The Asperger's Syndrome Society have been concerned about the suffering caused to Gary McKinnon by the USA's insistence on extraditing him to face trial.

Following his successful appeal against his extraditon, the society have decided to aid his recovery by paying for his flights and tickets for a once in a life time visit to Disneyworld, Florida.and swimming with Dolphins [IMG]

They do realise that if he goes to the USA, the authorities there will nick him on the basis that he dropped a piece of litter or any crime they can pin on him, and once he's in the system, they'll find a way to keep it that way?

I would have thought he would be arrested on entry and tried for the crime they want him extradited for :-)

Can they still do that? I'm not sure what the legal details are between US and UK in this regard.

He has only been saved from extradition NOT the crime
So if he were to enter American territory then I believe they can grab him

I didn't realise that, I hadn't listened properly to the news:)

In that case, surely someone must realise that there's a horrendous blunder being made.

From a serious point of view, where does this leave us.

From now on any body can just say they intend killing themselves and get off any kind of crime they might have committed on human rights grounds.
It strikes me this is just a knee jerk reaction from a government trying to look like it stands up to foreign powers.
Glad we got rid of the hook bloke before this happened.

Pity they dont take a similar approach regarding Europe, and all their silly ways.

You'd think the papers would have learned to check their sources after Hilsborough:doh:

You think they'd check that there actually was such an organisation as well.
