Mind you, when something of that weight starts to slide, theres not much you can do to stop it.

Managed to keep my Nissan Airbag in the right direction by going at 1mph & kept the nearside wheels against the grass verge. That was fun, coming down one of the steepest hills in Dorset.

Eeks! And I get stressed out watching, from the safety of my living room, car after car get stuck in the packed snow at the entrance to our road. Frustrating thing was, we had two diggers clearing the other road yesterday but they never came into our close. Would only have meant them coming in about 10 yards at most.

I realised they are heavy vehicles Zig....... Even so one does not expect then to be on their sides....!!!!! Not sure about round by you, but there have been issues here about the speeds of the gritting lorries this year... Seems they are travelling way faster than they should be.......................... To get the job done....................... Rubbish....!!!!!

Sadly Daisees they will only clear main roads, main artery roads, commuter routes & elderly peoples dwellings..!!! :dh:

You're right there, the one that gritted me was doing about 45mph thru our 30 limit.
Same as the "powered by gas" council van, i guess if you work for the council, the law doesn't apply to you.

How very stupid of them, the road doesn't look that bad. I suppose it's only human nature to make mistakes but that is a howler.
