Hello there, just wondering if anyone can identify this shrub please? It's in a friends garden she said it has tiny red flowers in summer & the bees love it. I thought it was honeysuckle or jasmine but she's quite adamant it's neither! It's quite a large & bushy about 6ft tall and 4 wide ish!
    Thank you !

Could it be one of the Weigelas?

    More info needed.

Is this in UK or else where in the world?

    Do please add location details.

If Weigela then it should be bare by now as Weigela is decidious.
    When was pic taken?
If recent it must be evergreen.

Any sign of berries or seed capsules?
Zooming in I can see stalks of something.

Reminds me of my Leycesteria formosa (Himalayan honeysuckle) which currently still has its leaves. Though in summer that has dangling red-purple bracts with little white flowers, rather than tiny red ones....

@Millie16 What does your friend think it is.
Whereabouts in Devon as climate is different in a coastal area compared to inland Devon.
Leaves remind me of some of the Loniceras I grow.

    Thanks.
I think it may be deciduous as some leaves are beginning to turn yellow.

Leycesteria formosa (Himalayan honeysuckle) has green hollow stems.
Don't think the leaves are the right shape.
Pics below..... to show pendulous flower stalks. with white flowers, coloured bracts and black berries, leaves etc.
Last pic shows one in winter.
