So after an order of borage seeds failed to arrive from china; I received a complementary bag of what the seller called safflower seeds. Thus far these have sprouted and I am a little dubious. Although they all grew from the seeds that were sent as a replacement, they look rather odd. A second opinion would help alleviate any fear; otherwise in the bin they will if they are a weed.

If you google safflower you will see they are a plant with yellow-orange flowers, leaves seem similar on young plants but on mature plants they look rougher and more prickly.

They are used for culinary oil but I don't think the domestic grower would be able to extract oil.

Fairly pretty, so it's up to you.
