I grew this from seed in 2009...usual story ,found an old brown envelope that had been lying around with seeds i'd collected...didn't know what they were or where i'd saved them from:DOH:This year one flowered and turned out to be Giant Scabious...thought they were the same but this one has shown no signs of flowering, just keeps getting bigger so now i'm uncertain of what it is.....
The second 'plant' has appeared by it's self and i haven't a clue...Any ideas...

Also no idea with the first one, but I'll add Zaluzianskya to the list of possibles for the second.

Could the first one be Horse Radish or Burdock?

Thanks folks... i've been looking up the plants that you have suggested and yes the Zaluzianskya has it:yess:.What a great little plant even though the foliage looks a bit scruffy. It's also known as midnight candy..or night phlox...and smells of marzipan at night time.I've no idea where it has come from but glad it's come to 'live' with me...

Dai...i've 'chickened' out of digging number 1 up for now...the horseradish and burdock leaves don't quite look the same...my gut feeling is still with the scabious but can't understand why it hasn't flowered this year:scratch:
        Thanks for your ideas:dbgrtmb:
