    Hi all

I've just got back from my holidays in Cornwall (well, got back last night). It was good, visited a few gardens and took some pics which will be appearing in a new thread in the ID area soon.

My garden is completely overgrown. Who'd have thought so much could change in just over a week. Oh well, much work to do when my energy comes back:)

It was a good holiday overall, and I took us (me, the wife, baby son, my mum and wife's mum) on many excursions. Lots to see in Cornwall. My £300 motor did very well although I did notice an annoying whining sound develop, although oddly enough I could only hear this whining sound when the mother-in-law was in the car:scratch:

Anyway, must catch up on all the new posts, to see what I've missed:)

How did your young lad do then? Or was he mothered to within an inch of his life by the three Mums in the car?

He was fine. I'd been worrying for nowt it seems. I kept the fans on full and switched the recirculation setting on so it blew in the back as well, opened the sunroof slightly and gave him a sunscreen for his window. He was fine. He loved the whole holiday, lots of new experiences for him. We had to spend a good half hour just watching one exhibit alone in the Eden project. He was completely fixated by some giant mechanical thing they'd built that had lots of turning cogs, and pendulum things and all sorts on it:)

Welcome back :) Did you go to The Lost Gardens of Heligan? Well worth a visit, according to someone I know who lives nearby.

Yep. Went to Heligan and the Eden project. Been to both last year, but worth visiting again so we did them again this year. A small part of Heligan was declared off limits this year because a swarm of bees has taken up residence there. I thought it was quite appropriate for the owners to section the area off rather than move or destroy the bees, as it demonstrates that they put nature before paying customers, which is how it should be really. Heligan is ace. It has its own microclimate that allows many subtropical trees and plants to thrive outdoors, which makes for a really interesting jungle section. They also having a working orchard and veg production areas, not to mention ornamental gardens just for chilling out in.
