My son and daughter-in-law moved into their first house in America a few weeks ago. Although the house is set amongst parkland they only have a tiny back yard.

They haven't got round to re-painting the scruffy woodwork yet so my d-i-l came up with this idea as she's sick of looking at it. :)

Sheets...........I wonder what they're sleeping on. :heehee:

I like it. Not quite the same thing, but I once used a large sheet of cloth to cover the doorway of the dilapidated outhouse (former outdoor toilet) at my last house.

I think the sheets trick looks really good, and with the lounger and the sunshine it looks really cosy, and private yet airy. I bet your son is very pleased with it.

Jenny, they're really suffering at the moment......80 to 90F. Ohhhh, we wish! :)

Thanks Clueless, it's surprising what you can come up with as temporary ideas. The only drawback is they have to share it with the noisy air conditioning machine. :)

Well, it was a good idea at the time! My son won't have to re-paint the fence now, it got blown away in 80 mph winds on Friday during a storm. It's down to the landlord to replace it.
