Edge is pretty dire to be honest - I use Firefox on all my Windows 10 machines and it works beautifully

I had two total disasters downloading W10 on my desktop PC and on my Laptop, the latter freezing completely and I had to spend £40 to get it back to W8.1, while my desk top managed to download W10, but I lost my G Mail account, my Google account, my printer wouldn't "talk" to the Desktop, nor would my external drive, my Pentax camera wasn't recognised by W10.........and I could go on:dunno: I spent another £40 to get W7 back on the Desktop:wallbanging:

So 3 days to go . Almost took the plunge but bottled it as im afraid of unleashing anarchy. My prob is im using a notepad with only 1gb ram.
Would 1gb ram be enough for win 10 upgrade ?

My lap top has developed a vertical line right up the middle of the screen, its less than three years old.
Most of the stuff you buy now days is rubbish anyway, just look a mobile phones designed to fall apart well before the 2 yr contract runs out, so you go for an upgrade.

If I still had my old PC I could just buy a new monitor, being a lap top I assume the screen has had it.
Pity as I still have a very nice monitor that I used with my old PC.,

Updating to windows 10, is there any real point when the hardware only lasts three years?

Took the plunge finally. Of course it took ages, display driver problem then a big freeze up on restart.
Now seems to have slotted together and all is OK so far.................................. touch wood.

A few weeks ago Mrs Scrungee accidentally opted to 'upgrade' to W10 on her cheapo Dell laptop (obviously not listening to my advice on how to prevent it), but after I'd performed a few minor changes like restoring Google/IE/etc. plus a few other tweaks, it hasn't caused a single problem.

P.S. She's just told me she prefers Edge as it's faster and experiences less problems using it.
